![]() Project Highlights
Previous Exploration Work Area 1 is a 2 kilometre long zone of radiometric anomalies and widespread surface mineralization located 1.5 kilometres southwest of C Zone. During the 2005 exploration season, Area 1 was identified as a high priority target using radiometric maps and a surface sampling program. Three boulders exhibiting secondary uranium staining returned 5.613% U3O8, 5.778% U3O8 and 6.828% U3O8. A total of 4,908 metres in 45 holes were drilled in 2006 and 2007, which expanded the zone of known uranium mineralization and extended the strike length to 600 metres. In addition, EM and IP surveys were conducted to locate future drilling targets. The 2008 drill season included a total of 2,406 meters of drilling in 10 holes. The results from the winter drill program identified Area 1 as having an inferred 43-101 uranium resource of 0.48 million pounds (0.40 million tonnes at 0.055%) and an inferred vanadium resource of 1.00 million pounds (0.40 million tonnes at 0.114%), while the summer drill program focused on expanding the known mineralization along the C Zone - Armstrong corridor. The uranium zone at Area 1 occurs along a 4.5 kilometre long mineralized corridor that also includes the C Zone and Armstrong. Exposure is generally poor along the 4.5 kilometre long structure, but it does outcrop at the C Zone where it has been drilled for 1500 metres of strike length. The zone outcrops again at Area 1 and at Armstrong, which are located 1500 metres and 3000 metres, respectively, along strike to the southwest.
